জয়পুরহাট জেলার কালাই পৌরসভার উপ-নির্বাচনে আওয়ামীলীগ সমর্থিত প্রার্থী তৌফিকুল ইসলাম বেলাল তালুকদারের পথসভায় ককটেল বিস্ফোরণের ঘটনায় এক কর্মী আহত হয়েছে।

৪ অক্টোবর রবিবার রাত সাড়ে ১০টার দিকে কালাই পৌরসভার কাজী পাড়া এলাকায় এ ঘটনা ঘটে।

এ সময়ে পর পর ২টি ককটেল বিস্ফোরণের ঘটনায় আব্দুল লতিফ নামে এক কর্মী আহত হয়েছেন।

প্রত্যক্ষদর্শী সূত্রে জানা গেছে, কালাই পৌরসভার মেয়র ও উপজেলা আওয়ামীলীগের সভাপতি হালিমুল আলম জন মারা যাওয়ায় আগামী ১০ অক্টোবর মেয়র পদে উপ-নির্বাচনের ভোট গ্রহণের তারিখ নির্ধারণ করে নির্বাচন কমিশন। 

কালাই পৌরসভার উপ-নির্বাচনে নৌকা মার্কার পথসভায় রবিবার রাতে নৌকা মার্কার প্রার্থী বেলাল তালুকদার নেতাকর্মীদের নিয়ে কাজীপাড়া এলাকায় পথসভা শুরু করেন।

উক্ত পথসভা শেষে খাবার প্রস্তুতি নিচ্ছিলেন নেতাকর্মীরা।

এ সময়  হঠাৎ করেই বিদ্যুৎ এর লাইন বন্ধ করে পরপর ২টি ককটেল বিস্ফোরণ হয় এবং ২টি অবিস্ফোরিত ককটেল চেয়ার নিচ পড়ে থাকতে দেখা যায়।

ককটেল বিস্ফোরণের ঘটনায় কালাই উপজেলার মাত্রাই ইউনিয়নের স্বেচ্ছাসেবকলীগের সাবেক সাধারণ সম্পাদক আব্দুল লতিফ পায়ে আঘাত পেয়ে আহত হলে স্থানীয়রা তাকে উদ্ধার করে কালাই উপজেলা স্বাস্থ্য কমপ্লেক্সে ভর্তি করে দেয়।

উপরোক্ত ঘটনার খবর পেয়ে কালাই থানা পুলিশ ঘটনাস্থল পরিদর্শন করে দুটি তাজা ককটেল উদ্ধার  করে।

কালাই থানার অফিসার ইনচার্জ সেলিম মালি জানান, খবর পেয়ে পুলিশ ঘটনাস্থলে পৌঁছে বিস্ফোরণ হওয়া দুটি ককটেলের খোসা এবং টেপ পেঁচানো দুটি তাজা ককটেল উদ্ধার করেছে।

এ ঘটনায় থানায় এখনো কেউ অভিযোগ অভিযোগ করেনি। অভিযোগ পেলে প্রয়োজনীয় আইনানুগ ব্যবস্থা নেওয়া হবে।

এই রিপোর্টা লেখা পর্যন্ত থানায় কোন অভিযোগ দায়ের হয়নি।

Injured in cocktail explosion at Awami League's election rally in Joypurhat's Kalai municipality by-election-1

 An activist was injured in a cocktail explosion at a road rally of Awami League-backed candidate Taufiqul Islam Belal Talukder in Kalai municipality by-election in Joypurhat district.

 The incident took place in Kazi Para area of ​​Kalai municipality around 10:30 pm on Sunday.

 An activist named Abdul Latif was injured in two consecutive cocktail explosions.

 According to eyewitness sources, the Election Commission has fixed October 10 as the date for the by-election for the post of mayor due to the death of Kalaim Municipality Mayor and Upazila Awami League President Halimul Alam Jan.

 Boat marker candidate Belal Talukder started a road rally in Kazipara area on Sunday night with the leaders and activists of the boat marker road rally in the by-election of Kalai municipality.

 Leaders and activists were preparing food at the end of the road meeting.

 Suddenly, the power line was cut off and two cocktails exploded in a row and two unexploded cocktail chairs were found lying on the ground.

 Abdul Latif, former general secretary of Kalai Upazila's Matrai Union Volunteer League, was injured in a cocktail blast and was rushed to Kalai Upazila Health Complex by locals.

 Upon receiving the news of the above incident, Kalai police visited the spot and recovered two fresh cocktails.

 Kalai Police Station Officer-in-Charge Selim Mali said police reached the spot and recovered two cocktails that had exploded and two fresh cocktails wrapped in tape.

 No one has yet lodged a complaint at the police station.  Necessary legal action will be taken in case of complaint.

 No complaint has been lodged with the police station till the writing of this report.
